Sainte Maxime in a few

Located in one of the world most beautiful bays - Le Golfe de Saint Tropez, the city of Sainte Maxime is quite charming with its white sandy beaches and the surrounding green hills. It is impossible not to fall in love with this typical landscaping from the south of France, where Farniente is the "watchword". Beaches, creeks, trekking footpaths, urban walks, water sport activities, Sainte Maxime concentrates most of what people expect from a holiday.


Beside being a charming village, Sainte Maxime is also the heart of the region from where it is quite easy to discover for a day incredible sites such as the Verdon natural parc, the Provencal villages or the vineyards on the surrounding hills.... without forgetting the colored village of Saint Tropez. Take some time to drive all along the coastal road.


How to get there?

By car: from the A8 highway, use the exit Le Muy. If you arrive from the west, you can also exit in Toulon and take the national road RD25. It offers wonderful views over the Mediterranean sea.

By train: you can easily reach Sainte Maxime using the local bus service from Saint Raphael train station or from Les Arcs train station. The VARLIB bus network is particularly well organized.

By plane: the closest airport is La Mole-Saint Tropez, 20 kilometers from Saint Maxime. Unless you have a private jet, you won't be able to land in La Mole. Therefore, two options: Hyeres airport, which is an hour from Sainte Maxime. This airport offers various connection but not international ones, or very little. The second option allowing you to travel all over the world is Nice Cote d'Azur, 100 kilometers away.


When should I come?

Sainte Maxime mediterranean climate offers hot summer and a very pleasant winter season. This partially explains why Sainte Maxime is so much appreciated by the French customers, and in particular from the ones coming from the north of France. Parisian clients have their habits in Sainte Maxime, and this from the end of the second world war. However, be careful, from late October to early march, rain can be quite intensive sometime! Choose your holiday accommodation in Sainte Maxime and get ready to travel!

Good to know!

The mediterranean cost is just breathtaking. If you want to avoid periods during which the area is quite crowded, better to come before of after the summer, meaning avoid July & August! Starting from mid September, despite the important number of events happening at this time of the year, the atmosphere is much more pleasant and you can finally find a spot for your towel on the beaches... The period March to June is also particularly good with beautiful sunny days. In May, you can even think about skiing in Isola 2000 on Saturday and having a sea bath in Sainte Maxime on Sunday. This is what the French Riviera is!
